Nitro Statement
Fellow racers
We have received a few questions regarding Nitro and next year's World Championship.
We are aware that the EU regulations are due to change at the beginning of 2021 and therefore we have been discussing the options available.
As you are all no doubt aware there is no easy solution to this problem and every option comes with a number of issues.
As we see it there are three possible options: (The issues are: The extremely brief version!!)
1) Find a suitable test
Issue - Accuracy
2) Source premixed fuel with the correct Nitro content which is delivered directly to the WC venues and purchased from the organisers
Issue - A lot of additional work for the organisers
3) Source premixed fuel with the correct Nitro content and each racer can only use that specific fuel
Issue - People cheating!
Having discussed all of the above in depth we feel the best option is to find a suitable test; which is something we are currently working on. However, we have no intention of implementing any new rules prior to the 2021 World Championship.
Just to clarify there will be no Nitro limit in place at the 2021 World Championship.
We will continue running a number of tests in the hope that we can find a satisfactory solution to present to you all at the World Championship committee meeting. We intend to discuss our findings with you at the meeting and where necessary take a vote before we implement any new rules.
We ask that you use the time between now and the World Champs to discuss this matter within your countries. Please ensure that you are well prepared so that we can avoid the meeting going on until midnight!!
As always we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Kind regards
The iMBRA Committee
